What’s a Christmas card?
At first, a pretty bit of paper with much-appreciated well-wishes.
But after a week, it’s another bit of clutter that you have to guiltily throw away, or shove into a mouldering box of keepsakes.
From the sender’s end, it’s a pain in the proverbial. Digging through an address book (do we even have an address book?), picking up the card from the local chain shop, buying stamps (how much?) and dropping it off in a post box. I mean, we love our friends and family, but what a kerfuffle.
So, we’ve reinvented Christmas cards for the Age of the Internet. Flaunt your well-wishes across social media so that everyone knows what a good friend you are. ;)
How to ‘deliver’ your Christmas card...
Step one: Download the Christmas card
Once you’ve bought your stylish set of designer pixels, you’ll instantly get an order confirmation email. Click on the link within to receive your .jpeg image. But if that's not quick enough, you can even do this from your order confirmation screen straight after purchase! Of course, you can do this wherever you are in the world.
Step two: Devise a Christmas message
Tug at your loved one’s heart strings with a declaration of your adoration; or tickle your bestie’s funny bone by writing them a witty limerick. Add them via the caption or comments feature on whatever form of social media you'd prefer. Don’t forget to share your best creations with us on Twitter!
Step three: Share on social media
You can showcase your new Christmas Card on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Google+ and Tumblr - smiles all round! They’re pretty and bright, which means they’re likely to garner lots of likes and shares. If you prefer a bit of privacy, send them via email, Messenger, text message or on WhatsApp.
Step four: Don’t forget to tag!
Tag who you want to send it to. Boom – instant Christmas card postage!
Ideal for the terminal procrastinator or the thoughtful-but-forgetful. Especially if your friend celebrate Christmas on the other side of the country - or the world!
Also great if you don’t have the person’s postal address to send a traditional Christmas card to (I’ve certainly had that issue in the past!).
- There is no fulfilment needed, meaning there is no extra shipping time and cost to you. Easy peasy.
- The image measures a satisfyingly large 1080x1080 pixels - optimised for Instagram, and designed to look stunning on a phone screen, tablet and desktop.
- The resolution is 72 pixels/inch, optimised for web.
- Please note that as it is a digital product, there are no refunds, cancellations or exchanges as the item is sent to you instantly and automatically.
No trees were chopped down in the arrangement of these pixels. Compare this to the raw materials used in traditional greetings cards and the pollution involved with mailing them.
You don’t even need to recycle this card. You’re welcome.
Go planet earth!
